Breakfast Casserole

 



10 slices white bread, crusts removed

3 cups milk

2 tablespoons minced parsley

3/4 teaspoon dry mustard

1/2 teaspoon salt

6 eggs slightly beaten

2 cups grated process sharp American cheese (or Velveeta)

2 cups cooked and sliced Italian sausage

 

Cut sliced bread into 3/4" squares. Beat milk, seasonings, and eggs together. Stir bread pieces, cheese, and sausage into egg mixture. Pour into buttered oblong baking dish (11x7x1 1/2).

 

Bake uncovered at 325 for one hour or until center is set.

 

Serve immediately.

 

Jerry adds that a can of diced green chilies may also be added to the mixture prior to cooking - very good!
