Our name has been changed from the original LIBERATORE. 

My father's family is Italian and from the mountains east of Rome. My father was born in McKesport, Pennsylvania.  

My mother was born in Briancon, France, a small village in the French Alps near the Italian border. Her last name was Doutre.  When she was a teenager, she moved to Cannonsburg, Pennsylvania, where she met and married my father, Jesse Leber. 

My parents lived in Pennsylvania before moving to Pittsburg, California in the 1930's.  They had four children:  Martha, Dolores, George, and Jess.  George died at the age of ten.
